The Problem You'll Own
We need someone who treats ML infrastructure like a mission-critical system – because for us, it is. Every model update, every pipeline optimization, every system improvement directly impacts how efficiently thousands of homes use energy. You'll build the platform that lets us ship intelligence at the speed of thought.
What You'll Build
ML Platform from Scratch: Design and implement our entire MLOps infrastructure – from data pipelines to model serving
Real-time Data Pipelines: Ingest and process millions of data points from smart meters, inverters, weather APIs, and market feeds
Experimentation Framework: A/B testing infrastructure for algorithm improvements across our distributed fleet
Edge-to-Cloud Orchestration: Systems that coordinate between cloud intelligence and edge devices
Developer Velocity: Tools and pipelines that let our ML engineers ship models in hours, not weeks
Monitoring & Reliability: Observability for models in production, drift detection, automated retraining
You Are
Platform Builder: 5+ years building production ML/data infrastructure, preferably from early-stage to scale
DevOps Master: Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines are second nature. You automate everything
Data Engineering Expert: You've built real-time pipelines processing millions of events. Kafka, Spark, or similar at scale
Cloud Native: AWS/GCP/Azure – you architect for scale, reliability, and cost
Linux Wizard: You can debug kernel issues before breakfast and optimize system performance in your sleep
Full-Stack Capable: When needed, you can mock up an MVP frontend to validate an idea
Bonus Points
Experience with time series databases (InfluxDB, TimescaleDB)
Knowledge of IoT protocols (MQTT, Modbus, OCPP)
Experience with blockchain or distributed systems
Background in energy, utilities, or industrial IoT
